Setting:
It’s late 1861, and the Staunton-Parkersburg Pike connects the
Federalist-leaning areas of western Virginia with the strategic and
fertile Shenandoah Valley. One of the bastions created to prevent a
full-scale Federal incursion into the valley is Camp Allegheny
(Fort Johnson), which lies astride the Pike at the crest of
Allegheny Mountain. We will recreate a portion of General R. H.
Milroy’s attempt to take the fort, which was successfully resisted
by the Confederate Forces of General Edward “Allegheny”
Johnson.
